Since 1990, the Varazdin Municipal Museum has been employing a pedagogy expert in charge of the museum's educational activities, as well as its public relations.

The department co-operates with educational institutions, media, tourist agents, and other establishments, for the purpose of promoting museum programmes and all its related activities. Exhibitions are accompanied by lectures or student assignments prepared by the Museum's curators or by its pedagogy expert. Students are thus being introduced to the respective exhibitions' topics, which makes their visits all the more interesting.

Since the Museum has two collections on permanent display (the Old Masters Collection at the Gallery, and the Cultural and Historic Department Collection at Stari grad), guided group visits are organized in Croatian, English, and German.

Apart from its own programmes, the Varazdin Municipal Museum is open to other activities as well, such as concerts, plays, book presentations, workshops. TV documentaries, as well as tourist and commercial broadcasts are also sometimes shot there.
