Early works by Ivo Rezek fall into the Central European symbolism period. When he went to Paris (1924-28), his shapes acquired some characteristics of the neo-Classicist poetics. There are reminiscences of early Renaissance and cubism masters' works. This is one of such paintings. It is characterized by joy and light. The characters are presented in a sculptural manner, positioned either individually or in groups, according to the author's original compositional ideas. The stress is put on drawings, while the colours are harmonized around blue/green accords.
