Manufactured in 1976 at the Museum, it is a replica of Tesla's original (Strasbourg, 1883) - the first alternating current motor in history. Today, some 90% of all electric motors use Tesla's rotating magnetic field for their operation - a discovery first applied in this particular case. The model serves demonstration purposes. |
