Presented is the sub-floor bauxite exploitation method which has been applied in our mines for a number of years now. The method is usually applied also in a number of similar variants, depending on the individual reservoir's natural conditions, mechanization level, and other technological exploitation phases.
The first exploitation of bauxite as mineral ore occurred in Croatia. In Istria, it was produced for mining purposes already back in the 16th c., and, more extensively, towards the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th c.
