Skylab

A model of the Skylab orbital station to which the spaceship Apollo has been joined was made in 1974 by Dimitrije Barb from Zagreb to the scale of 1:10. The station's dimensions are as follows: Length: About 35 m (together with Apollo joined to it); diameter: 6.6 m, while the station's (plus the joined ship's) total mass amounts to 90,000 kilograms. The station's interior includes several rooms, while its outer parts include a module with telescopes, "four-winged" solar cells, and two principal sun cell "wings" with the surface of 360 mð. Orbital station Skylab was launched on 14 May, 1973, by the Saturn-5 rocket. During its circling around the Earth, three crews were exchanged on it. After over six years of existence, on 11 July, 1979, Skylab entered thicker atmosphere layers and burnt down.
