Built in 1870, it was used at the Rijeka Paper & Pulp plant all the way until 1967. It was the plant that donated it to the Museum. Turbines of this kind were not manufactured or utilized very frequently, which is why they are rather rare even in Museums. The long-term use of this entirely preserved Girard's turbine provides it with an even greater significance.
