The Museum of Slavonia Specialized Library - local and foreign periodicals obtained in exchange for the Osijek Collection of Papers


The specialized library has been a part of the Museum since 1877. It collects bibliography from the area of the Museum experts' interests and Museum departments: Humanistic pieces, general manuals, referential literature, professional periodicals...

Since 1942, the Museum has been issuing its biannual entitled The Osijek Collection of Papers. Since 1954/55, the Collection of papers has been featuring in inter-library exchange. Today, the exchange includes 400 local and 500 foreign institutions.

The specialized library's activities: Regular library work; alphabetic, expert and numerical catalogues, special holdings' records.

Publications: The Osijek Bibliography, The History of Osijek's and Slavonian Printing, as well as a number of professional and historic papers, while articles are also being published on the entire holdings or on individual topics.

The users:

The Museum of Slavonia specialized library does not include free access to its holdings. Its users are the Museum experts, as well as the related institutions and faculties' expert staff members, scientists, journalists, citizens.... The reading-room may receive 6 people, 10 including auxiliary seats. The holdings may only be studied inside the reading-room; they may occasionally be borrowed, on special request only. Inter-library landing. Inter-library exchange.

daily from 8 AM - 3 PM;
Saturday's and Sunday's from 10 AM - 1 PM.
