THE CROATIAN CHOIR & MUSIC CLUB "KUHAC"
Osijek, est. 1858. On its 65th anniversary, the club published a chronicle of its activities. The book was written and abundantly documented by dr. Stjepan Hefer, solicitor; 146 p. with photographs.
The club was named after FRANJO KSAVER KUHAC
(Osijek, 1834 - Zagreb, 1911),
Osijek piano teacher and choir conductor, a renowned musicologist who was collecting and publishing popular musical heritage pieces.
IVAN ROCH
(Viener Neustadt, 1896 - Montreal, 1972),
graphic artist, worked in Osijek from 1920-1944, particularly on local publications' illustration. The cover was decorated in art deco style, with some Croatian national motifs. |
