N. Arbanas was born in 1950 in Batina. She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Visual Arts in 1975, and finished postgraduate graphic art studies in 1977. She was trained by S. W. Hayter at Atelier 17 in Paris, as well as in Prague (by Prof. L. Cepelak).
