VID KONIGER'S CIRCLE: THE ADORING ANGEL

  • A pair of angels in adoration stands at the altar by the tabernacle. One holds a bundle of grain, while another holds a cluster of grapes.
  • The sculpture is attributed to the circle of the Austrian sculptor Vid Koniger who was active in the second half of the 18th c. His statues are the example of the last big swing of Styrian sculpture in the twilight of Baroque art.
