Town certificate issued
to Martin Bartolic in 1826

Latin certificate as proof that Martin Bartolic, a wheat tax collector, is entitled to all civil privileges both of the Royal Borough of Karlovac, and of the other royal boroughs in which he moves to. The privilege was issued by the office of the Royal Borough of Karlovac on January 21st 1826, and was signed by Martin Milicic. It is curious to note that Martin Bartolic was a weaver and not a wheat tax collector, but the office of a wheat tax collector was considered more honourable, so we can assume that this is why his trade was not mentioned in the certificate.
