The History Department developed from the “Department for the Labour Movement, the Struggle for National Liberation and Socialist Construction” that became an independent department in 1964. The Department collected original photographs, original documents and objects that are almost exclusively related to World War II.
Today the Department also deals with events linked to all aspects of social and political life before World War II, as well as those relating to the period of the creation of the independent Republic of Croatia.
