The Museum of Croatian Archeological Monuments is one among the oldest museums in Croatia. It is also the only museum in the country established for the sole purpose of exploring, collecting, and exhibiting Croatian material and spiritual culture remains from the Middle Ages (7th-15th c.), particularly from the early Croatian state period (9th-12th c.). |

Today, the Museum has rich early Croatian archeological heritage holdings consisting of about 20,000 items. The permanent exhibition displays merely about 25% of the entire holdings. Permanently exhibited is mostly jewelry, weapons, and utility objects, as well as a number of stone monuments that once made part of the early Croatian church interiors. |

Apart from its museological activity, the Museum is also engaged in extensive archeological explorations on various early Croatian sites, particularly on its local southern Croatian territory between the rivers of Cetina and Zrmanja, while it also organizes exhibitions and issues publications. |
