description
In this poster the fundamental motif is a sculpture by Ivan Meštrović, the leading Croatian sculptor of the 20th century, acknowledged worldwide, entitled “Woman in a Spasm” (Ivan Meštrović Foundation, 1928, bronze, 103x13.9x65 cm). In form and idea, Meštrovic’s works picture the spirit of the tradition.

Selecting this sculpture by Meštrovic for the illustration of the topic of the poster, the designer draws a parallel with the war in Croatia, in which the aggressor was seizing and appropriating Croatian works and artists. The woman is presented as if resisting the invisible thief in his white gloves.
