The ship's hull is red, the bow vertically cut. On the captain's bridge, which is open and covered with an awning, the helmsman at the rudder and another figure are visible. In the middle of the ship towers a black funnel from which a dark cloud of smoke is coming out. Next to it is a narrow steam pipe. Hanging on both sides of the funnel are lifeboats, one on each side, with an additional one at the stern. The stern is also provided with an additional rudder. At the bow there is a small crane with a winch. On the ship nine figures can be discerned. The steamer has two masts with booms for the gaff sail. At the foremast there is a code flag (red and white vertical field), at the mizzenmast hangs a blue banner with the vessel's name, and at the stern an Austro-Hungarian flag. The painting is made in Ivankovic's characteristic manner. The greenish blue sea is opaque and rough, with waves fringed with white crests. The sky is predominantly clear; the land and the horizon disappear in a purple haze. Depicted on the painting are also two sailing vessels with spread sails and Austro-Hungarian flags, one on each side of the steamer.
