  • Faience
  • O = 97 cm, Height = 63 cm

The Museum owns two vases which once belonged to the collection of apothecaries' jars from the Domus Christi hospital and pharmacy that was founded in Dubrovnik in the 16th century. Bulbous and provided with a lid, these vases have snake-like handles and stand on a high stem. Both vases are decorated with blue floral motifs and black drawings inside medallions on the belly. On the obverse side they feature pastoral scenes characteristic of the mid-18th-century art. On the reverse (inside the medallions) of both vases are depictions of rural architecture. Below the pastoral scenes are mascarons wrought in relief.
