This watch features a double round silver casing of simple design, with a key for winding up placed at the top. The inner casing has an exquisite double silver dial (with Roman numerals denoting hours and Arabic numerals denoting minutes). Next to the watch-hand is a double cartouche bearing the signature. The clockwork is made of gold-plated brass and is richly decorated with filigree and perforated parts with the signature John Bushman London No. 1029. Bushman was a renowned watch-maker of the time who specialised in pocket watches. The balance wheel is placed in a special supporting compartment that is decorated with two birds of paradise, floral motifs and a mascaron at the bottom.
